Actors

The film has been placed on several casting profiles, along with a shout out from Dean Sills to the actors he has worked with before. We did quickly get responses from actors all across the UK. However the majority were from London. This meant they could not be included in the selection of actors for the film, as it would be costly to have them travel to Doncaster every day, and then transport the said actors to each location each day. This would also cut down dramatically the amount of time these actors could be on set. Even with this in mind, none of the actors who applied for any of the film roles from the casting websites actually turned up to a scheduled audition. They also did not give any reason for not turning up; therefore, even though they applied for the roles, they were actually not actively engaged to be in the film. The actors who did turn up to the audition were all actors that have worked with Dean before, indeed the majority have worked together as a group of actors on several projects together. Examples of this are the two trailers shown below. One is a feature length film in which Dean is the lead actor, the other; Up North is a comedy pilot episode written and staring Dean that is being shown on a local Essex TV station. These actors have not acted for very long, but they are keen, will actually try and attend auditions and also are very keen to do as much work as possible. A video of the auditions will be made and uploaded in a later blog post so you can see what the actors look and sound like. Three of the actors who went along to the audition have been in my work before, GUARDIANS and THE RAILWAY CARRIAGE, they are reliable and willing to do any role I ask them to act.

As well as this, over ten people have stated their interest in being crew for the film, however only two applied through the casting websites. One lives in Birmingham and thus would be too far away to get to the film locations early enough so all the filming can take place that day. The other, has no experience being in a film crew and thus probably cannot be completely reliable. Only one of the people I contacted actually committed to being crew for the film, Jack Chell worked on my first year film GUARDIANS . He recorded the sound on set for the film, and thus I can rely on him to record good sound for the film.
