Since my last blog post a lot has been going on. I have been to several more locations, trying to find the ideal location both logistically and stylistically. These include Goltho, a small brick build church which unfortunately burnt down a few years ago. Indeed my first year film Guardians was meant to be set mainly at Goltho but this had to change a few days after Christmas one year when a freak lighting storm left the chapel completely gutted as these two photographs show.

Another location was Lightwood Norton under 17s Driving centre, a Sheffield based driving on a former ww2 RAF base which closed down in the 1970s. The location is great due to the large range of aspects to the location, overgrown roads, buildings, hangers and woods. It also has a bunker which should come across well in the film. However not all the buildings at the site can be used due to asbestos. This I cannot film in the hanger or the majority of the ruined buildings. However I can film the exteriors, as well as this, the exterior of the bunker is fine to film as well. A big thank you must go to Dean Sills for arranging the location scout and coming along with me and looking at the location.

As well as this I went to several locations to find the perfect setting for the Gothic Chapel scene. The churches I looked at and indeed all the locations so far he been picked so they are easy to get to and within a short driving distance. Haugham, shown here for example is near Louth. Normanby-by-Spital is near Gainsbourgh. After much searching I settled on Burringham that is near Scunthorpe. It is a Victorian gothic brick built chapel with a great visual atmosphere.

Finally several props have been sourced, as shown here, a prop and costume list has been made, along with a rough shooting schedule.

Only two more locations have to be scouted and then the script can be finalised and finally the acting and crew casting can start.
