This week has been very eventful. This week I pitched the twenty minute film (which is now finally called Megan by the way) to my tutors. They feel it is a very ambitious project, and feel it could fail without adequate crew. I am going to prove them wrong and show this film can be pulled off. Indeed Dean Sills who has been helping me these past few weeks has been in contact with a makeup artist who hopefully will be on-board for the film. As well as this a composer I have been out of contact with for a year has been in touch. Allister J Pearson is a local musician who is very keen to have a go scoring a film again. The first score he accomplished is my first year film Guardians (see below). As a first attempt it was fantastic. His simple guitar chords really creating a successful vibe. As I have another composer on-board who is based in electronic music (see example bellow) and Allister now on-board I have a brilliant idea to bring this sense of two different time periods in the film. The flashback scenes set before the post apocalypse will have an electronic ambient score behind them to represent the sense of the man made. The post apocalypse scenes will have a natural simple string base to them which will represent the breakdown of society. As well as this a character in the post apocalypse will be playing an instrument, so in a sense the character could be playing the score. It’s all exiting stuff.
